John Healey has welcomed a new funding pot delivered by the Government in Doncaster.
Edlington is set to benefit from a £500,000 boost through Labour’s Pride in Place Impact Fund, which will fund significant regeneration across the town. The funding forms part of a wider £1.5 million package allocated by Labour to Doncaster Council to enhance communities across the city.

The investment will prioritise upgrading community facilities, improving public spaces, and creating a more attractive and welcoming high street. Work is set to begin this year, with £250,000 to be invested annually over the next two years.
During a recent visit to Edlington, the local MP joined a site visit in the village with City of Doncaster Council neighbourhood officers, seeing the areas set to benefit from the planned improvements for himself.
John Healey said:
“I’m pleased that Labour’s Pride in Place Impact Fund will support the regeneration of Edlington, delivering long‑overdue improvements to the streetscape, with upgrades coming to shop fronts in the village. I know residents will be eager to see the start of the works and the positive changes that it will bring.
“Last month, I visited the area planned for improvement works along Edlington Lane and Main Avenue, accompanied by council officers Kim Wilson and Donna Flicker. It was useful to see the area before the upgrade works begin.
“This two-year investment shows how vital it is for a Labour Government and our Labour Mayor in Doncaster, Ros Jones, to work together to deliver real change for our communities.”
This investment comes alongside the £20 million awarded to Conisbrough and Denaby through the wider Pride in Place programme.
