Following the announcement in September that Conisbrough and Denaby would receive £20 million in funding over the next decade through Labour’s Pride in Place programme, the newly established Conisbrough North Neighbourhood Board has now held its first meeting, marking the start of this significant long-term investment in the area.
The board is chaired by ex-local councillor Lani-Mae Ball and will oversee the delivery of the programme, helping to shape how funding is invested to benefit Conisbrough and Denaby over the next ten years.
John Healey MP, alongside board chair Lani-Mae Ball, local councillor Will Shaw and residents from across Conisbrough and Denaby, will serve on the board. In total, 11 members make up the board, bringing together a diverse range of experience and local knowledge to guide key decisions.
The inaugural meeting represented an important milestone for the programme. Discussions focused on community consultation and engagement, ensuring local people have a strong voice in shaping priorities for the years ahead. Members were also introduced to the objectives of the Pride in Place programme and had the opportunity to meet fellow board members.
Under Lani-Mae Ball’s leadership, the board has been assembled to reflect both Conisbrough and Denaby. Members were selected through a combination of appointments made by the chair and a recruitment process led by Doncaster Council. Together, they bring a broad range of skills that will help drive the programme forward.

“We were over the moon to have our first official meeting as a board.
“We have an amazing team of people here, with such a wide range of skills and experience, these truly are really exciting times for our community. This is really going to be a fantastic team working together.
“Lots to discuss, but the most important topic was how we are going to bring everybody else along for this fun journey.
“Huge decisions need to be made. Priorities need to be set but none of this can be done without our community’s voice.
