On 17 June John visited the High Street Centre in Rawmarsh to mark its relaunch.

Due to the success of the local project it is now expanding its services and is offering newly refurbished rooms for hire, as part of a plan to secure the financial future of the centre.

Speaking at the event, he said: “I am blown away by the dynamism of the High Street Centre. It continues to reinvent itself whilst maintaining its status as a vital community resource.

“The people of Rawmarsh should be proud to have such a thriving project at its heart. I would like to pay tribute to the people who make this all happen – the staff and the volunteers. And I hope the High Street Centre continues its good work well into the future.”

The High Street Centre provides a range of services to the community from exercise classes to running after school childcare.
