I am pleased to see the regeneration of Wath Library progressing, with demolition works now underway to remove the old library building.

During the works, there will be temporary changes to Biscay Way Car Park (to the rear of Wath Library) until Friday 24th July 2026.

To offset the loss of existing disabled spaces, three new disabled bays will be created within the car park. In addition, on‑street parking restrictions in Wath Town Centre have been extended from 1 hour to 4 hours in the following areas:

High Street: Parking bays on the south side of the carriageway from the Moor Road junction. (Bays on the north side will remain limited to 1 hour.

Sandygate: All designated parking bays.

Once demolition is complete, the site compound will be reduced in size, allowing additional parking spaces to be brought back into use until construction of the new library begins.
