MP backs cancer charity with coffee morning
MP John Healey is backing Macmillan Cancer Support by hosting another coffee morning.
The popular event, held every year at the MP’s office in High Street, Wath-upon-Dearne, usually raises around £500.
Coffee mornings are held throughout the country as part of Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning fundraising drive, which raises £8.5m for the charity.
John said: “I know many local people have personal experience of the problems a cancer diagnosis can bring to patients and their family, and I know that Macmillan has been there to support many of those in need.
“So I am hosting another coffee morning at my office and everyone is welcome to come along.
“It’s always a great event which is extremely well-supported. Local people are very generous.”
This year’s coffee morning is on Friday 28 September, 10am to noon.
As well as tea, coffee and cakes there will be stalls, a raffle and a tombola.
Any donations would be gratefully received and can be dropped off at the office Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. For more details phone 01709 875943.
