I’ve written a letter of support to the Assessment Panel for the UK Town of Culture 2028, backing Conisbrough’s bid for the title.

Conisbrough has played a remarkable role in our national story for generations. From inspiring Sir Walter Scott’s Ivanhoe, to its proud mining heritage, to the iconic 12th-century Conisbrough Castle.
The bid seeks to celebrate the town’s medieval history, industrial pioneering, its contribution to national defence, and the creativity and resilience that continues to shape its thriving community.
