John recently paid a visit to Dearne Valley College’s College Cooperative.

The new shop sells products made by the local community for the local community and is run by staff and students at the college.

John said: “The College Cooperative is a brilliant project and a way of bringing hands on learning into the college, something that’s been so hard for students during the pandemic.

“What’s special about it is that all parts of the college have come together to make it happen and with the outlet being local to the community, produce is locally made and locally bought, which in turn boosts the local economy. I think every college in the country should have their own College Cooperative.”

The shop is located at the Dearne Valley College campus on Manvers Park in Wath and is open Tuesday to Friday between 10am and 3pm.
