John announces Christmas card competition winner

John Healey MP has announced the winner of his annual Christmas card competition.

Every year his card – which is sent to hundreds of people – is designed by local schoolchildren. This Christmas it is the turn of Rawmarsh Rosehill Junior School.

Mr Healey presented gifts to the winner and 10 runners up – pupils aged from eight to 11 – during a special assembly at the school on Friday.

He said: “As always, the standard of entries from the children was high and choosing a winner was very difficult. I want to thank them all for taking part and for welcoming me to their school on Friday.”

The winning design is a colourful reindeer drawn by 10-year-old Emily-May Spyve.

The runners-up were: Demi Millar, age 9; Holly Longden, age 10; Kaydence Taylor, age 9; Mark Swallow, age 10; Chloe Beaumont, age 9; Tierney Hodgkinson, age 9; Luke White, age 9; Kimiko Uttley, age 10; Katie Ellis, age 8; Olivia Marriott, age 11.
