Cortonwood Comeback Community Centre will be hosting a Jobs Fair next week in Brampton. This event has been backed by MP John Healey and local Brampton councillors Denise Lelliott and David Roche who together wanted to help bring a job and careers fair to the area.

The fair has been organised by the Cortonwood Comeback Centre and lead by their Community Careers Outreach Officer Cheryl Baxter. The event will be an opportunity for the community to find out more about jobs, apprenticeship opportunities and training courses as well as learning about CV writing, interview techniques and volunteering.

MP John Healey with Councillors Lelliott and Roche have been working with the Cortonwood Centre and local employers, training providers and educational establishments to provide a showcase for a wide range of services and opportunities available locally in Rotherham and across the Dearne area. The community will be able to find out about jobs, apprenticeship opportunities and training courses as well as learning about CV writing, interview techniques and volunteering.

John Healey MP has said: “This really is a great chance for the local community to come together and show what is on offer in terms of work, education and training nearby.

“As well as job opportunities there’s a chance to find out about the key skills needed for getting into employment – such as interview technique and how to write a CV.

“Staff at the centre have been working hard to contact local businesses and course providers to come along and showcase employment, training and education opportunities. They’ll be something for everyone and support for the whole community.”

The event has also been supported with funding from the Community Renewal Fund through the Anything’s Possible, Rotherham project bid organised by Voluntary Action Rotherham. The Jobs Fair will be held at Cortonwood Comeback Community Centre on the Monday 28 February between 10am-4pm.
