John Healey has congratulated the organisers of the first Rotherham Day and added his own message of support
John said
“Congratulations to everyone involved in creating our first-ever Rotherham Day.”
“Do you know, as far as I’m concerned, EVERY day is Rotherham Day.”
“I’m proud to live in Rotherham, to have brought up a family in Rotherham and had the huge privilege of representing Rotherham in Parliament for nearly three decades. It’s a place I love. A town with such a wealth of talent, achievement and potential.”
“But the thing that makes Rotherham so special is not just WHAT it does, but HOW it does it. Rotherham is built on a rock solid sense of community and solidarity. People support each other. They look out for one another.”
“And it’s quite right we should also celebrate one another. Shout out for our town.”
“So, whatever you’re doing to mark Rotherham Day, I hope you enjoy it and feel proud. Have a GREAT Rotherham Day!”
