John Healey MP invited students from Edlington Victoria Academy to design the front cover of his annual Christmas card competition, which is now in its twentieth year. Each Christmas, John invites a different primary school from around his Rawmarsh and Conisbrough constituency to design the card, which is distributed to local businesses, charities, schools, and fellow parliamentarians.

The Rawmarsh and Conisbrough MP revealed the winner at a special assembly at Edlington Victoria Academy in Edlington, which was accompanied by festive singing from the school pupils.

The winner and nine runners up, all aged between six and 11, were presented with gifts and a copy of the winning card for their family.

The winning design is of a smiling Christmas tree and has been designed by Y1/2 pupil Evelynn Goode.

John Healey said:

“I am grateful to all the pupils at Edlington Victoria Academy who contributed their wonderful designs for my annual Christmas card.

“There were so many creative designs and choosing just one winner is never easy. That’s why the nine runners up also feature on the back of the card.

“Evelynn’s design of a smiling Christmas tree really stood out for me, and I’m so pleased to see it on the front of this year’s card which will be sent to over almost 1000 people locally and across the country.”
