Special advice session and coffee morning

John Healey has organised a special advice session after a surge in people asking for his help following government cuts and changes.

Expert advisers from Rotherham Council, the Department for Work and Pensions and Age UK will be offering free help and information about:

• benefit cuts

• appeals

• housing benefit

• bedroom tax

• council tax

• pensions

• support for older people

• getting a council house or moving

• debt

• legal claims

Mr Healey and local councillors will also be available to talk to at the session, which is at Wath community library, Friday June 21, 10am-12noon.

The MP said: “Many more people are starting to come to me in need of my help because of the government’s cuts to benefits and local councils.

“Unfortunately there are more to come, so I’ve organised this special coffee morning and advice session for people who are concerned about recent or forthcoming changes.

“Just come along, talk to local experts and get free help. No appointments are necessary and everyone is welcome.”
