DEARNE MP John Healey is offering help for families who may be struggling to afford a new school uniform.

His office in Wath is now a drop-off point for a charity that redistributes used uniforms to children who need them.

He said: “Parents know that buying school uniforms is expensive and kids grow out of clothes in no time.

“If pupils have to wear badly-fitting clothes it can have a lasting impact and I want every child in our area to feel proud as they go back to school in September.”

Mr Healey is working with the charity Restoration Beyond Belief Ministries, based in Bolton-on-Dearne, which redistributes uniforms to families in the area. They welcome donations of good condition clothes and shoes from across the Dearne.

The charity has organised a fun day when families can pick up uniforms they need. It will be on Saturday 7 September, from 10.30am, at Prospect Road Community Centre, Bolton-on-Dearne.

Uniform donations can be left at Mr Healey’s constituency office – 79 High Street, Wath-upon-Dearne, S63 7QB – Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.
