School Governor praised for 35-years of service
Local MP John Healey joined teachers, pupils and parents to pay tribute and thanks to Jack Carr for his 35-year service as a governor of the former Rawmarsh nursery school, which is now the pioneering Rawmarsh children’s centre.
John Healey presented Jack Carr, who is a former Rawmarsh councillor and Mayor of Rotherham, with a certificate of appreciation for his long service at the nursery’s Christmas sing-song.
Mr Healey said:
“Jack has been a senior local Councillor but he still kept his day-to-day involvement with the nursery. He has seen generations of Rawmarsh children get a good start in life at the nursery, and his commitment to supporting the staff has been constant. We all pay tribute and thanks to his service to the nursery."
Headteacher Judith Shelley added:
“Jack Carr has always been very supportive to the children’s centre, and always available for advice”.
