EXTRA £40,000 FOR SCHOOL SPORTS FACILITIES
EXTRA government cash is going to a Rotherham school to make sure sports pitches can be used as much as possible in the evenings and throughout winter.
Rawmarsh Community School – A Sports College will receive £40,000.
It is part of £21 million going to sports colleges across the country to improve facilities with flood lights, artificial turf and new tented-style sports halls.
Mr Healey said: “Thousands more children are doing more PE and sport than last year and sports colleges are leading the way in helping encourage this.
“The government’s massive investment in schools is continuing and I know this extra funding will make a real difference at Rawmarsh.”
Ed Balls, Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families, will make the announcement today at the Sports Colleges Conference in Telford.
