MP HOSTING CHARITY COFFEE MORNING

AN MP is hosting another coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support – and is hoping to beat last year’s record-breaking total.

John Healey raised nearly £400 for the charity last year, making the event the most successful he has hosted.

The Wentworth MP will hold another coffee morning at his office in High Street, Wath-upon-Dearne on Friday 25 September, 10am-noon.

And he is hoping local people will come out in force to keep the amount he raises on the up.

John said: “Every year local people really get behind this event and I hope they continue to do so. I look forward to seeing as many people as possible call in for a cuppa to support this very worthy cause.

“In the UK today two million people are affected by cancer. I know many constituents have personal experience of the problems a cancer diagnosis can bring to both patients and their family. Macmillan Cancer Support is there for people from the moment they suspect they might have cancer, with practical, medical, financial and emotional help and support. I hope local people will join thousands of others across the UK who are raising money to help Macmillan continue its vital work.”

Tea, coffee, biscuits, cakes and scones will be on sale, and there will be a raffle and various stalls with books, gifts and bric-a-brac.
