MP RAISES CHARITY CASH WITH COFFEE MORNING
AN MP has thanked local people for their support after hosting another successful coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The event on Friday at the office of John Healey MP in High Street, Wath-upon-Dearne, has raised £360 – matching last year’s record-breaking total.
John said: “Thank you to everyone who came along to show their support. People were as generous as ever, helping us raise a great total for a really worthy cause.”
As well as serving tea, coffee, biscuits, cakes and scones, there was a tombola, raffle and sale of donated goods, including books, plants and food from South Yorkshire-based social enterprise Food AWARE.
Wath hairdresser’s Marsha’s boosted the coffers with a contribution of £80.
Four raffle prizes have yet to be claimed – the winning numbers are on show on the office door.
